PLCs and Electrical Controls
Typical Controls for DevLinks, Ltd. Automation and Robotics Work Cells are as follows:
- Conduct operator commands thru a 7″ or 15″, Maple Systems Operator Interface Terminal (HMI)
- Command terminals display “Start up and/or Status Messages” on the current state of the machine
- Start up sequences
- Error indication on HMI is available depending upon system applications
- Error displays inform operators of why a line is down and what is causing the issue
- PLCs use Ethernet I/O and some discrete I/O signals to communicate with the Fanuc Robots.
- Standard HMI programming includes some basic data collection (i.e. uptime/downtime, total parts completed, etc.)
Electrical Components for DevLinks, Ltd. Automation and Robotics Work Cells are as follows:
- Command center for a typical system will consist of a single Allen Bradley compact Logix E series PLC with Allen Bradley I/O components
- PLC and I/O Chassis mounted in a NEMA 12 grade enclosure
- All electrical systems (PLC, circuit breakers, safety control relays, main power disconnect) constructed in accordance with NEC – NFPA79 within a NEMA12 rated enclosure
- External hardware (not in enclosure) will be rated NEMA 12 or better (sensors rated at IP67)
- Ethernet and discrete I/O interfacing for communication with FANUC robots
