Experienced Machine Builder

We are looking for a Machine Builder to assemble, debug and install entire machines and/or systems in a timely manner and meet customer requirements.

Job Type: Full-time

Standard Hours: 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday to Friday (some overtime available)

Salary Range: Negotiable, based on experience level


  • Assemble all aspects of a machine or multi-system from drawings and/or verbal instructions.
  • Fabricate critical machine components as required.
  • Work with electrical personnel concerning electrical and programming issues.
  • Use knowledge of pneumatic functions, devices and fittings, to achieve desired results.
  • Adjust cam timing, rotary positions (i.e. indexing units) as necessary.
  • Perform machine parts and assembly modifications as required, working with engineering when changes are major or of a critical nature.
  • Record changes to machine parts and assemblies on engineering drawings.
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics
  • Debug machine with engineering, as necessary.
  • Perform in-house acceptance run-off.
  • Provide information for machine technical documentation.
  • Maintain a safe, clean working environment and follow safe working practices.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in a safe, clean and orderly fashion.
  • Other duties as assigned.



  • High school diploma or equivalency.


  • 1-year minimum experience in machine building.
  • Journeyman tool maker or equivalent skills.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Good interpersonal skills.


  • Must be knowledgeable in the proper use and selection of tools and equipment. Examples:
  • Inspection and measurement tools such as vernier, caliper, and scales, etc.
  • Hand tools such as a variety of wrenches, pliers, saws, power drills, etc.
  • Machinery such as milling machine, surface grinders, lathe, etc.
  • Basic P/C Skills including Excel, Word, Outlook
  • PLC Knowledge

Physical Demands:

  • The employee may be required to stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to the floor.
  • Exert up to 75 pounds of force occasionally, and/or exert up to 25 pounds of force frequently.
  • Visual Acuity – Normal requirements for reading written instructions and computer screens.
  • Hearing Ability – Normal requirements for understanding verbal instructions
  • Working Conditions – The employee is subject to exposure to high noise levels and/or physical hazards when working on the manufacturing floor.

Experienced Machinist

We are looking for an experienced machinist for our Arlington Height, Illinois workshop.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary Range: Negotiable, based on experience level


  • This machinist must be able to oversee operations using lathes, either manual or programmable CNC to machine products for custom automation and robot End-of-Arm Tooling.
  • Design fixtures, tooling, and experimental parts to meet special engineering needs.
  • Select metal stock and layout design according to dimensions computed from scale drawings.
  • Read and interpret engineering diagrams and drawings regarding product information such as design, capacity, and purpose, and types of material to be used to fabricate product.
  • Analyze CAD drawings, written specifications, miscellaneous drawings, rough sketches, and verbal instructions to plan layout and determine sequence of operations.
  • Read Solid Works software programs.
  • Set-up and operate metalworking machine tools such as lathe, milling machine, saw, and surface grinder to machine parts to specifications, and verifies conformance of parts to specifications.
  • Build an automation system and resolve issues that arise if outsourced machined parts require modifications.

The right person must be able to work well with a small, busy team. Be hard working, punctual and a motivated problem solver with a mechanically orientated brain. Have the ability and attitude to complete a project from start to finish with minimal supervision. Be able to direct and oversee others in the completion of a project. Must be able to communicate in English (verbal and written).

Robot Programmer

DevLinks is looking for a full-time Robot Programmer to work out of their Arlington Heights, IL location.


  • Use simulation software to evaluate and determine proper robot location, work cell layout and estimated cycle time.
  • Review electrical drawings to verify tool and interface wiring.
  • Develop robotic systems from concept to finished product.
  • Configure i/o.
  • Start up new robot, load programs.
  • Diagnose errors/faults.
  • Conduct self in professional manner during customer run-off, installation and support.
  • Work alongside controls engineer to develop and debug system.
  • Comment and document all programming and changes during development and installation.
  • Accept delivery of robots from supplier and crosscheck against PO.
  • Prepare completed system for shipment.
  • Install robot to manufacturer specifications.
  • Make progressive backups during and after development.
  • Conduct Risk Assessment.
  • Comply with company, customer and industry safety standards.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 4 years’ experience programming FANUC robots OR 6 years’ experience with other industrial robots
  • Experience with 3D simulation software, specifically FANUC Roboguide
  • Experience with FANUC iRVision or similar machine vision system (Cognex, Keyence)
  • Experience with robot recovery programming
  • Knowledge of industrial DC controls systems, AC components and industrial wiring
  • Ability to read and understand an industrial electrical drawing
  • Must be willing to travel (25%)

Mechanical Engineer
DevLinks, Ltd. is currently searching for a Mechanical Engineer to join our team.

Primary responsibilities will include:

  • To design and implement process driven, innovative automation system solutions and equipment design
  • Perform process evaluations, feasibility studies and proposal support prior to the release of quotations.
  • Design and implement systems using Solidworks 3-Dimensional design software.
  • Perform project execution upon receipt of order.
  • Create system design documentation.
  • Assist with equipment selection and specification.
  • Provide technical expertise and assurance to customers during sales appointments with sales personnel.
  • Work closely with purchasing, controls engineering, robot programming and the project management team to ensure the automation system design is completed in a timely manner.

Ideal candidate will have the following experience and education:

  • Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience
  • Proficient use of SolidWorks software.
  • ACAD experience a plus.
  • Must have some automation process knowledgeable (know what is required to make a system work).
  • Should have working knowledge of National Electric Codes, NPFA 33 and related guidelines, and industry practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
